RegEx and VB

So how would we go about getting the regEx demo working with VB?

In VB, if you have the sample installed, a new window will pop up when you type:

Dim foo As New Regex(

It should also pop up if you ctrl+click on the regex ("myregex") in the following statement:

Dim foo As New Regex("myregex")

Is this working for you?

(Please keep in mind that the Regex editor is an extensibility sample and may not be completely useful for production work).

My mistake, it isn't working in C# either. It is enabled in the
Extension Manager, is there something else that need to be set?

Not really. Are you trying compiling from source or installing a vsix?

If compiling from source, from the VB source or the C# source? Are you running on the experimental hive or on the regular hive (if you don't know what this is, you're running on the regular hive)?

If installing from vsix, was it the vsix from the gallery? did you restart Visual Studio after installing?

And, do either of the starting points I mentioned work or is it as if the sample is not installed at all?

Regards,

BTW, just tested with the 3 different releases (VB, C# and VSIX) and all of them seem to work correctly. In the VB version I sometimes don't get the pop up when using the keyboard because of completion getting in the way, but I always get it with the mouse. This may be related to what you're experiencing.

I installed the version from the code gallary. I did restart VS
multiple times. I can see it in the extension manager.

I am also running the Code Contracts beta. Do you think it might be
interfering with it?

Not sure. Let me check and get back to you. There are very few things that may interfere, though. If it replaces (or adds to) completion in any way, it may be interfering.
